He works with Children, Adolescents and Adults. He has significant experience helping clients deal with the effects of Trauma, Developmental Attachment Injury, Anxiety, Depression and the dynamics of relationships including friendships and family. He has a mindful and compassionate approach that builds on the client’s innate resources and strengths.

Steve has trained in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (Level 1&2) which focuses on the Treatment of Trauma and Developmental Attachment Issues.
Sensorimotor Psychotherapy is a Somatic approach to Therapy with embedded Directed Mindfulness and a focus on the impact of Trauma on the Body and Nervous System. Using a three stage Trauma Model, Steve develops client’s resources and strategies for emotional regulation and wellbeing, processes traumatic memories with safety and guides you to integrate new meaning into life.

Steve has also trained in Expressive Therapies for Children and Adolescents, which uses the modalities of Sandplay, Symbolwork and Expressive Arts in Emotional Release Counselling.

These approaches allow for right brain expression and processing of difficult emotions and traumatic material for children and adolescents, specifically where it is challenging for the young person to express their story verbally.
