Therapy from your couch
The Therapy Spot now offers telehealth - or therapy from your couch - for all our services. One of the many impacts of COVID 19 was the need to provide a service to our clients who were vulnerable or for some other reason were unable to come into the practice.
What we found was that therapy delivered this way was really helpful, and our clients not only enjoyed the experience but also benefited greatly from receiving therapy online. There has been quite a bit research in the area that backs our findings up. A study in 2013 found that video therapy was just as effective as face to face therapy and that there is no significant difference between the two. (Comparing in person to videoconferencing based cognitive behaviour therapy for mood and anxiety disorders: randomised controlled trail)
Getting online is quite simple, we send you a link which you activate at the appointment time. You go into a virtual meeting room where you can see your therapist and they can see you. We use an encrypted program which is HIPPA compliant, so you can feel safe and secure.
We can also provide phone therapy if that is your preference as well. Just let us know what you need, and we will provide it for you!
